On November 11-12, 2022, a SIM-swapping gang stole approximately $450M in crypto from FTX by walking into AT&T stores with fake IDs, hijacking employee phone accounts, intercepting 2FA codes sent to FTX users, and draining their wallets during the company's bankruptcy.

In its official Telegram channel, FTX said it had been compromised, instructing users not to install any new upgrades and to remove all FTX apps. Over $600 million stolen from FTX's crypto wallets.
